Grupo Entreposto is active in this area through the company
Entreposto Gestão Imobiliária, S.A.
Formed in early 1990 for the purpose of concentrating and managing
the Group's real estate, it consists primarily of the facilities
belonging to the concessions of various vehicle, agricultural
machinery and industrial product brands represented in the country
and by various other dispersed assets.
One of these assets is now called Edifício Entreposto, purchased in
1992, located in the East of Lisbon where a major urban
regeneration programme took place thanks to Expo 1998, with which
this building was associated, firstly by renovating its outer
façade, and later by converting it from predominantly industrial
use to tertiary sector use. It is now one of the largest office
blocks in the city of Lisbon, home to some 20 companies, of which
only five belong to the Group, and employing a total of between
1500 and 2000 people.
In addition to redeveloping the Edifício Entreposto building, which
gave the company considerable expertise in the field of offices,
EGI would start a new trend in real estate promotion outside the
automobile business with the purchase in 2001 of a building in
Baixa Pombalina, the subject of extensive renovation and successful
marketing.
With the same objective; property development for housing and
services, the following housing projects would subsequently be
launched: the blocks of flats "Patos do Sado", in Alcácer do Sal,
"Lux de Tavira Residence", in Luz de Tavira, "Convento das
Bernardas Residence" - rehabilitation of a former convent in
Tavira, and "Casas do Parque" in Porto, and a project in the
service sector: an office building adjacent to the existing
Edifício Entreposto. All these are projects that are underway or
about to start, but others are under development in the Lisbon
urban regeneration area and in vehicle retail in the metropolitan
areas of Lisbon and Porto.
Distinction for the quality of its projects, in some cases
involving unique features, for its strategic location and for
specialization in niche markets, are factors common to almost all
projects currently underway and in development and that EGI intends
to maintain and strengthen in terms of its future positioning in
the market. It does nevertheless maintain permanent support for the
Group's retail network, both by seeking new installations and by
adapting existing ones to current conditions in the automotive
market.
